Hero Team of the Month (June) Steve & Harley

My name is Steve Curry and my dog’s name is Harley. I am a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran and a retired police officer. Harley was a rescue dog from the Humane Society of Oldham County.

From 2014 to 2016, I volunteered as a committee member of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation. Our goal was to build a monument to honor Gold Star Families at the Kentucky Veteran’s Cemetery across from Ft. Knox. The monument was dedicated in September 2016. Harley is my service dog and goes everywhere with me. We have been to Florida together twice, he enjoys riding in the car with me. He loves to run outside, play ball and chase ducks. Harley loves to meet new people. He has made a big difference in my quality of life and I can’t imagine life without him.
