Hero Team of the Month July/August 2019 Jim Day and Samson Jim Day served in the Army in Vietnam in 1970 with Delta Company/23rdlllth brigade. Hero Team of the Month (June) Steve & Harley My name is Steve Curry and my dog’s name is Harley. I am a US Air Force Vietnam Veteran and a retired police officer. Harley was a rescue dog from the Humane Society of Oldham County. From 2014 to 2016, I volunteered as a committee member of the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation. Hero Team of the Month (May) John and Zakk John was medically retired from the US Army. Coming home and adjusting to civilian life proved difficult for John and he started having difficulty with depression and severe anxiety. As John struggled to adjust he sought out support and with the help of his wife, Lindsey, they found DHH.Around the time that John was connected to DHH, Zakk was found lost in Oldham County. Hero Team of the Month (April)-John and Cash John Wells, a Navy Corpsman who was transferred to USMC at Camp Lejeune where he completed combat training. After combat training he then went to the Naval Hospital in Key West for 6 month before he was sent to Vietnam.
